چکیده

We report a realization of three-dimensional (3D) electromagnetic void space. Despite occupying finite volume space, such medium is optically equivalent to an infinitesimal point where waves experience no phase accumulation. The 3D space realized by constructing all-dielectric photonic crystals that the effective permittivity and permeability vanish simultaneously, forming six-fold Dirac-like with linear dispersions at center Brillouin Zone. demonstrate, both theoretically experimentally, exhibits unique properties rich functionalities absent in any other media, as boundary-control transmission switching perfect wave-steering mechanisms. Especially, contrary "doping" effect its two-dimensional counterpart, amazing property "impurity-immunity". Our work paves road towards can be manipulated unprecedented ways.

Three - Dimensional Electromagnetic Inverse Scattering

A numerical algorithm for the reconstruction of the permittivity of a three-dimensional penetrable object from scattering data is presented. The reconstruction algorithm is based on the local shape function method (LSF) combined with the conjugate gradient method with FFT (CGFFT). The nonlinearity due to the multiple scattering is accounted for in an iterative minimization scheme. Numerical exa...

Three-dimensional accelerating electromagnetic waves.

We present a general theory of three-dimensional non-paraxial spatially-accelerating waves of the Maxwell equations. These waves constitute a two-dimensional structure exhibiting shape-invariant propagation along semicircular trajectories. We provide classification and characterization of possible shapes of such beams, expressed through the angular spectra of parabolic, oblate and prolate spher...

Void Avoidance in Three-Dimensional Mobile Underwater Sensor Networks

Mobile underwater sensor networks are usually featured with three-dimensional topology, high node mobility and long propagation delays. For such networks, geographic routing has been shown to be very suitable. However, routing voids pose great challenges on the greedy policy used in most geographic routing protocols. The problem is more severe for underwater sensor networks because of node mobi...

Three - dimensional quasi - linear electromagnetic inversion

One of the most challenging problems of electromagnetic (EM) geophysical methods is developing three-dimensional (3-D) EM inversion techniques. This problem is of utmost importance in practical applications because of the 3-D nature of the geological structures. The main difficulties in 3-D inversion are related to (1) limitations of 3-D forward modeling codes available and (2) ill-posedness of...

Three-dimensional relativistic electromagnetic subcycle solitons.

Three-dimensional (3D) relativistic electromagnetic subcycle solitons were observed in 3D particle-in-cell simulations of an intense short-laser-pulse propagation in an underdense plasma. Their structure resembles that of an oscillating electric dipole with a poloidal electric field and a toroidal magnetic field that oscillate in phase with the electron density with frequency below the Langmuir...
